Dameron Hospital is a fully accredited, 188-bed community hospital
offering a broad range of medical, surgical and health maintenance
services for emergency
and acute care.
Both not-for-profit and non-sectarian, Dameron exists solely to serve
the healthcare needs of the community of Stockton, providing our neighbors with advanced
technology and
state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment — as well as facilities
for inpatient, outpatient and occupational patient care.
Our service areas
include Cardiology, Emergency/Urgent Care, Home Health, Radiology,
Occupational Health. In addition, the Start of Life Center, our maternity
department, delivers more babies than any other hospital in the county.
Dr.
John Dameron founded Dameron Hospital in Stockton in 1912 with
facilities for 20 patients. Ill health prompted him to
sell the organization to a group of local doctors, staff and businessmen
in 1925, and expansion in 1927 brought bed capacity up to 55.
The
hospital was incorporated as Dameron Hospital Association in 1943,
becoming an independent, not-for-profit medical facility governed
by a seven-person board of directors and a 20-member board of membership.
Today we remain both independent and uncompromising in our approach
to patient care – health care attitudes we’ve had from
the very beginning. And with over 1,200 employees now on staff, we’ve gone
from just serving the community to being a large part of it.
