Dameron Hospital Foundation has established the 1912 Legacy Society to honor and recognize individuals who have named Dameron Hospital a beneficiary of their will, estate plans, charitable gift annuities or charitable trusts. As a member of the 1912 Legacy Society, you join community members who have made a commitment to share our visions of providing high-quality medical services and serve as a leading healthcare provider in our community.
As a member of this special group, you will receive a gift of appreciation, recognition on our donor display and acknowledgment in our publication. A wish of anonymity will also be honored.
If you have questions about estate planning, consult your attorney, accountant, or financial planner.
Many people choose to include their charitable interest in their long-range estate planning. There are a number of ways to preserve the financial security of one's self and loved ones while also providing for charitable gifts. Examples of planned gifts include:
Wills and Bequests
A gift to Dameron Hospital in your will allows you to retain your assets during your lifetime and/or the life of your spouse. Designations may be for a percentage of your estate or a specified amount.
Transferring a life insurance policy's ownership to Dameron Hospital can result in tax benefits for you and a generous gift for the hospital. Dameron Hospital can also be included as a beneficiary of a policy.
A charitable trust can provide income for you and/or your spouse while you are living. Thereafter, Dameron Hospital can be named to receive the remainder of the assets. Other charities can be named as principal recipients as well.
Charitable Gift Annuity
A charitable gift annuity is the gift that gives back. It provides a way to make a gift to your favorite charity and still receive an income for yourself or others. By giving a lump sum (usually $10,000 or more) to Dameron Hospital Foundation, you can receive an annual fixed percentage rate of return for life. It's as easy as a bank CD, and it supports Dameron Hospital while providing a nice rate of return.
Other charitable gift options include a direct gift of cash, appreciated securities or real property, retirement plans and living trusts. Consult with your advisers on the best way to prepare an estate plan that first meets your unique needs and wishes.
